I have the honour to søknowledge the receipt of
Your excellency's despatch No.1078/1915, Confidential
of July 26th in which you are good enough to inform mê
of the motion you have been taking in the matter of
Indians in China and ask me to furnish you with my
opinion as to whether the question should again be brought
to the notice of His kajesty's Government,
In reply, I have the honour to inform you that the
matter has engaged my earnest attention for considerably
over a year and that I have been in frequent communication
with His Majesty's Government and the Government of India
as to the measures which should be adopted for exercising
stricter surveillance over the movements and proceedings
of His kajesty's Indian subjects in this country. I
regret that the correspondence on the subject is too
